I have a friend in Shanghai that wants to do a show with me. Her site is http://http://www.wasavy.com/ since we both have a lot of rabbit themes going on in our art, we figured we would do a show in winter to close out the year of the rabbit with rabbits. These are just some doodles to keep the idea a tad more than just a conversation. The korean writing there. 'Gemul' means monster in Korean, it's what the kids called me when I lived in Korea, and the other word is 'Bunny' spelled out in Korean. All art here was done in Brushes for iPad and the CzuCzu thing was finished off in Photoshop on my Mac at home.

what a great weekend!! The Gallery that is hosting my art got shut down on one weeks notice. I feel bad for Nicole as that just blows. Having your business closed down like that. she still has her art classes upstairs and will have a good bye party.
I also got my work rejected by That's shanghai owner. Editor and designer's apparantly loved it, but on final inspection it got shut down. So i went with something less cartoony. The side on one I hate the most, and that's what got accepted. I like the fathead guy. Oh well after spending overall 20 hours pleasing some Chinese middle age management type I'll get that 100 euros, and will be in the March issue! :p Anyways for next month I know what they want and atleast I'll continue to be published in Shanghai which is what I want. And beer money for summer. On technical terms, all this is done in brushes. I learned that with upping the resolution it gets funky when you do tight art like the last ones I showed you ;) When you do lose drawings like this, It's cool :)

Some more process work that I've been doing for That's Shanghai. We liked the image of couples walking down the bund, but it just didn't say 'Love sucks' like a drunk cupid in a bar. I still liked what I did on the sex toy job, so I took a bunch of composition design Ideas from that. Also found some issues with up resing in brushes. It's cool with rough drawings, but it really screws you over for tight work. So I had to go back to illustratot for clean up and Photoshop for color on the trusty old Mac. I hope with the next generation of iPads it'll let me finish images 100% I think I will look at what the android pads have to offer. This res limitation is getting to me, especially since the OS should be stream lined and light, so it shouldn't eat the processor. Making 300dpi images 10 years ago on computers lower specced than my iPad is why I don't get this limitation.
Also me and my good friend Nial have an exhibition right now in Shanghai. No 37, 1025 Nanjing Xi Lu, Shanghai, CHINA and http://blog.sina.com.cn/plumsh
It's on now till the 28th of February :)

Just a few days ago I've been contacted by a good friend from a Magazine called that's Shanghai, to be a monthly contributor to her articles. Mainly art. I know doing business in China is weird. Basically nothing is finished until it's finished and months have gone past. I love a lot of things in China, but management there has commitment issues. So I won't hold my breath, to see if they will be in print. I already got the memo, that students usually do this for free. It's an argument I hate and something in China they keep bringing up! Anyway I sent away several sketches from them to pick from. I rather them make decisions now instead of when the pictures are done. I did finish one picture, but that was more for my own fun. The name of the article is love sucks. All these were done in brushes for iPad.
