Rolling Stones

Well last night the Rolling Stones were in town, and management asked me to put together a commemorative poster for the event. One of the perks living in Shanghai for me, I know good people here :)

The images here show a progress from initial thumbs and mood boards with the client. The mood board involves older drawings I did, photos and other art that's in similar taste, then onto the final image :)

This is all done on my iPad initial sketches on Procreate than onto a Adobe Ideas for vector work. I used illustrator to convert the file from PDF to .ai and I moved the clouds and re shaped the background to fit into A4 proportions.

Canceled children's book

A bit bummed today, that the publishers didn't like my efforts for a children's book. The author is cool and encouraging, but wish the book would have came to fruition :(

Anyway here are some pics from it including a page

It's been a while since I posted, but I found some groovy places that do life drawing in Shanghai. Models are clothed, which is no problem, I definitely need practiced in drapery. One of them was a Dr. Sketchy event where we had a model in drag, the other was at a smaller venue.

My new iPhone case

The local phot development place lets you print photos onto iPhone cases, so of course I had to try it out with one of my doodles :) I did this on y iPad :)

New stuff

This is a mixed bag of stuff. Some are random doodles, some are caricatures done on my phone of comedians my girlfriend was watching on TV.

Australia went conservative

Here is a Caricature of the new Prime minister of Australia. I don't believe in his anti gay and anti evolution beliefs. I do believe the earth is significantly older than 6-10 thousand years.

He has big ears though. That's important to point out.

I have started posting more drawings on Weixin, just to be more social media activity savvy. I'm not good at it. I need to organize my work a bit more and have some direction. I like my blog, but not many people look at it. It's a bit on me, as besides writing and posting pictures I don't do enough to drive traffic... So that's on me ;)

Anyway I started a little series on popes. I used this as an excessive to get used to Adobe Ideas as a drawing tool. It's actually really good now. It lags a lot less and outputs in vector.

So here are the last three popes, hope you can recognize them :)
